From October 2021 to December 2022, SHE-ERA successfully implemented the Empowerment of Women and Employment in Dukagjini Region project with the generous support of UN Women. This initiative was dedicated to strengthening the role of women from marginalized communities across the municipalities of Peja, Gjakova, Junik, Rahovec, Istog, and Klina.

Project Goal

The project aimed to empower women by enhancing their entrepreneurial capacities, improving employability, and equipping them with the tools needed to run sustainable businesses. By focusing on both business knowledge and practical resources, the program created opportunities for women to step confidently into the labor market and economic life.

Beneficiaries

A total of 46 women directly benefited from the project. Each participant gained valuable skills in:

  • Entrepreneurship & Business Management

  • Soft Skills & Digital Marketing

  • Managing a Successful Business

In addition to training, women also received essential equipment for their businesses and were connected through networking opportunities, enabling them to collaborate, share experiences, and access new markets.

Collaboration

This initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration between SHE-ERA as lead implementer and UN Women as the donor, ensuring a strong framework of support and resources for the women of the Dukagjini Region.

Lasting Change

The project not only provided immediate support but also laid the foundation for long-term empowerment. Beneficiaries emerged with greater confidence, practical business tools, and the knowledge needed to expand their ventures and contribute to local economic development. By the end of 2022, the program had strengthened women’s roles as entrepreneurs, community leaders, and active participants in the workforce, opening new doors for economic independence and social inclusion.
