Good example: Ardita Kastrati – the village of Dobërdol, Peja region
Ardita Kastrati, is one of SHE-ERA’s beneficiaries who continues to be successful in the area of agriculture. Ardita has expanded her business with 10 bee hives, with a total of 48 hives and 2 greenhouses (100m2) where she cultivates tomatoes and cucumbers. She posseses 5 Ac. of open land where she also cultivates peppers, and has 2 cows and 4 calves. Ardita is the owner of her business registered on her own name, where are also engaged three of her family members. Ardita’s main product is high quality honey with a price of €10.00/kg. She also has other honey products such as honey with ginger, with black seeds and walnuts with a price of €10.00 / half kg. Currently, each bee hive yields 20 kg of honey. Mrs. Kastrati is planning on expanding her business by acquiring grant schemes offered by MAFRD and other developing partners in order to create more job opportunities through the establishment of a honey warehouse. Ardita is another successful business example, where as a result of her dedication and commitment she is able to surpass all challenges and problems which women entrepreneurs in agriculture continue to encounter in the current economic situation in Kosovo.
